Publication Standards

The African Awareness Center for Strategic and Political Studies seeks to build a new analytical discourse that illuminates African issues from mature perspectives, grounded in a deep historical, social, and political awareness of transformation trajectories both within and outside the continent.

In this context, the Center welcomes contributions from writers, researchers, academics, and analytical journalists, within specific criteria that ensure credibility, quality, and alignment with the Center’s objectives.

Scope of Publication

The Center is concerned with publishing content related to African issues across the following fields:

• Political and strategic transformations in Sub-Saharan Africa.

• Conflicts, security dynamics, and regional and international alliances.

• Development, political economy, and social structures.

• Culture, identity, and the challenges of epistemological independence.

• African relations with international powers, from a critical and analytical perspective.

It is required that the submitted content addresses the raised issues from novel angles characterized by originality, deep analysis, and a commitment to intellectual responsibility.

Types of Publications

Publications at the African Awareness Center are divided into two main categories:

1. Opinion and Short Analysis Section, which includes:

• Opinion articles

• Position papers / Situation assessments

• Analytical commentaries on current events

Requirements for this section:

• Word count: 800 to 1,500 words.

• Writing style: Clear, analytical, and built upon a precise understanding of contexts and facts.

• Rhetorical articles, pieces limited to description without analysis, or those devolving into generalizations, incitement, or personal attacks will be rejected.

• Submission under the author’s real name is required, accompanied by a brief author biography.

2. Studies and Analytical Papers Section, which includes:

• Research papers and studies (3,000–5,000 words).

• In-depth analytical reports (up to 10,000 words).

Requirements:

• Adherence to scientific research standards, with source documentation using the Chicago style (footnotes).

• Commitment to methodological standards, accuracy of data, and factual correctness.

• Articulation of an analytical perspective without claiming ultimate truth.

• Translated works are accepted under specific conditions, and the original source must be clearly cited.

General Terms of Publication

• Language: Standard Arabic in an elevated, clear, and grammatically correct style. English or French submissions may be accepted according to editorial needs.

• Originality: Submitted works must be entirely original and not previously published in any format (print or digital). Certain content is subject to verification via plagiarism and prior-publication detection tools.

• Prohibited Content: Content containing hate speech, sectarian or racial incitement, direct political or ideological propaganda, unsubstantiated definitive judgments, or violations of privacy and confidentiality will be rejected.

• Citation and Documentation: The Chicago footnote system must be used. Any text containing anonymous sources or inaccurate quotes will be rejected.

• Publication Scheduling: All materials are evaluated by the editorial board and scheduled based on various criteria, including arrival order, domain priority, topical relevance, and the general editorial schedule.

• Response to Submissions: The Center is under no obligation to provide detailed explanations regarding the reasons for rejecting unaccepted materials.

• Intellectual Property: The African Awareness Center retains the publishing rights for all works published across its platforms, while moral rights remain with the authors. Unless agreed otherwise, published materials are subject to the Center’s exclusive use policy. In cases where authors are financially compensated, full intellectual and publishing ownership automatically transfers to the Center. In all cases, opinions expressed in published materials belong solely to their authors and do not necessarily reflect the official position of the Center.

Submissions should be sent to the Center’s official email: afrosearchs@gmail.com with the type of material specified in the subject line (Opinion – Study – Report – Translation, etc.), attaching a brief CV and a personal photograph (optional).
